KLaF4:Nd3+doped transparent glass-ceramics processed by spark plasma sintering

نویسندگان

چکیده

Transparent oxyfluoride glass-ceramics (GCs) containing KLaF4 nanocrystals (NCs) doped with Nd3+were prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS). Glass powder pellets were sintered under a vacuum atmosphere, optimizing the processing parameters such as particle size, pressure, temperature, and holding time to obtain full densification. Transparency decreased when decreasing size due higher carbon contamination from die. The ?-KLaF4 crystalline phase was identified X-ray diffraction (XRD) its average crystal 10–20 nm. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) confirmed presence of incorporated Nd3+ions. Low-temperature site-selective emission excitation spectra Nd3+ions that ?- predominant polymorph, although minor ?- also demonstrated.

Structural and Electrical Properties of BNT-BT0.08 Ceramics Processed by Spark Plasma Sintering

(Bi0.5Na0.5)TiO3 doped with 8 mol % BaTiO3 powder (BNT-BT0.08), prepared by sol-gel method was compacted and sintered by Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) process. The influence of SPS temperature on the densification of BNT-BT0.08 ceramic was investigated. Starting from sol-gel nanopowder of BNT-BT containing 8 mol % BaTiO3 with an average particles size of about 30 nm, were obtained ceramics with ...

In-situ Fabrication of Transparent Magnesium Aluminate Spinel by Spark Plasma Sintering

Transparent polycrystalline spinel ceramic was fabricated without any sintering aids by spark plasma sintering method of a mixture of Al2O3 and MgO powders for only 10min soak at 1250°C. Densification, microstructure and optical transparency of spinel were examined. The spinel exhibits an in-line transmission of 55% for a visible-wavelength of 470nm and high hardness value of 2040 HV.

Comparison of Creep Behavior in Alumina Based Ceramics Densified by Spark Plasma Sintering and Hot Pressing

Spark plasma sintering (SPS) method, as plasma activated sintering, is a method applicable for rapid sintering of metals and ceramics. Owing to the advantage of rapid heating, the alumina ceramics obtained by SPS have a grain size and density comparable to those of hot pressed ones. The increase of densification rate may be related to some difference in ion transport characteristics. This study...
